SYNOPSIS:       On today's date at approximately 0930 hours, members of the Shasta County Sheriff's Office Marijuana Eradication Team (MET) along with deputies and agents from the Shasta County Sheriff's Office, U.S. Forest Service (USFS) and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) conducted a marijuana eradication operation in Eastern Shasta County in the area of the Old Cow Drainage.  Approximately 9,000 marijuana starter plants were located and eradicated.  At this time no arrests have been made however evidence obtained at the scene will be evaluated for further investigation.

     The Shasta County Sheriff's office would like to take this time to remind the general public to use caution if they encounter an illegal marijuana grow and to report any suspicious activity to the Shasta County Sheriff's Office Marijuana Eradication Team at (530) 722-9161.
